The Hermit

An amazing miracle happened at my house this morning. And it's name is "Digital Cable". After 4 harrowing phone calls to my local cable provider over the last 2 weeks, the cable fairy finally showed up at my house this morning and waved his magic wand.

Suddenly, I had 200+ channels at my disposal. Oh, be still my pounding heart! I no longer have to dream of watching Absolutely Fabulous on BBC America or The Dog Whisperer on National Geographic. I can enjoy the Tori & Dean's Inn Love on Oxygen and have movies at my disposal on 6 different Starz channels. I can pause live t.v. and use my DVR to record all those classic 90210 episodes that I've been missing on Soapnet. I am in heaven.

And this might mark the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Angie the agoraphobic. If you don't see me out in public within the next couple of days, send help. Or an intervention team.

Yes... I do not know how I ever survived without the greatest invention of all time... the DVR.

And we love our digital cable, too. Although we recently down-graded (since Mommy's no longer working)... we lost Noggin, Disney Channel (the cause of much whining from the girls), and six HBO channels, just to name a few :(

Little Miss told me she would rather have me back at work than stay home with her... just so she can have the Disney Channel back. Yep, I feeling the love.

Angie. ANGIE! Okay...just checking. Wanted to see if you could pull yourself away from the boob tube. Have you got LOST yet? Don't let the other stations distract you from your new goal to get caught up. :-)

Oh how I love my DVR... it's so not good for me, but I do love it. I was always missing stuff because all the good things were on when i was putting the girls to bed so i missed them. Now I can catch up! Course that means I'm up till 1 am or more, but we'll fix that when we get to it....

Sometimes I get this idea in my head, and I know that fundamentally it's wrong, but I just REALLY want to do it... like right now I want to leave you a bunch of comments so I can move up in your "people who comment a whole bunch" list.. isn't that silly of me.

I'll try to refrain... soon.

So have you discovered the joys of blogging while watching something off the DVR so you can rewind when you realized you missed something and fast forward through the commercials? Not that I'm doing this myself now or anything....

Wait till you get HDTV. You will NEVER EVER EVER leave the house. We will only watch something if it's on HD.... And blu ray... just forget about ever going to tbe movies again.

Oh and we have 2 dvr's:)

Welcome to the world of cable. The DVR lets me blog when I want and then I can watch my shows later, you know when I should be in bed sleeping.

I didn't grow up with cable. We didn't have it on our ranch, my parents' choice, so when we moved to the big city and finally got it, I was in awe. I watched it a LOT. So, I know what you're going through. hehe

I think I would give up food and water before I'd give up the DVR. If you find that intervention team be sure to send them to my house next.

You are JUST IN TIME for 90210! Right now they are in the Spring of their final season and since they do 2 eps back to back every day, they'll be back to the pilot by sometime early next week - possibly even Monday!

Welcome to the world of DVR! We've had it in the Hale Household for five years now and consider it an absolute necessity. Enjoy!

ROFL!! yeah it is addicting that's for sure. I justify the DVR by calling it a time saver. In an hour show you can 'SAVE' 20 mins or so from fast forwarding over the commercials.

The only problem I have now is that hubby gets upset when I have two programs recording at the same time. LOL ....oooops!

BBC and the National Geographic channel? I'm moving in. Where's my room? And pass the remote. :)
