They're calling for some nasty thunderstorms here today. We had a very brief one blow through here yesterday while the kids & I were at a friend's house for a play date. I learned an important lesson when I got home.

Apparently, Chloe is not a big fan of thunderstorms. I actually already knew this, but it didn't occur to me that she would try to eat the metal doorknob in order to get out of the house to try to come find me. Lesson learned. Time to add new doorknob and doggy Prozac to the shopping list.

Oh my goodness! Yikes! Poor girl. My Dad's dog Max is terribly thunder phobic too. I wonder if she would be so scared if you guys were home with her, or if it could partly be triggered by separation anxiety. This is another good question for Ginny!

Love ya!

Oh, man, she really doesn't like thunderstorms!! WOW. She's got some strong teeth. Poor puppy

We've got one also, Lizzy. All she has to do is get a whiff of a storm and she will take the door off it's hinges, literally, to get in her "room" aka: the pantry!

Poor thing. She looks quite worn out now :-) We had some major storms here last night. And by that I mean thunder and lightning. But not one drop of the wet stuff.

Oh MY! Poor thing!!! She must have been desparate to get out!

OH no!! Poor puppy must've been really freaked out.

Holy Moley! I was expecting something destroyed but not a doorknob! My parents' lab has huge storm issues as well, and even when they're home they have to tranquilize her. Poor puppies!

Angela: I think the separation anxiety exacerbated the situation. This is the first time she's EVER done damage like this. We're hoping it's the last.

Marianne: I couldn't believe she did it either! Very strong jaws.

Rhea: Definitely! She's doing better now. :-)

Jane: Don't give her any ideas. We like the door ON it's hinges. LOL.

Kat: She was definitely worn out and happy for us to be home.

Steph: Apparently so. I guess she thought I was hiding on the other side of that door?!

Heather: Yeah, I think you're right.

Michelle: I think some tranquilizers might just be in our future. If not for her, then for me! :-)

At home: Welcome and thanks! I think she's pretty too. :-)

I had a dog once that required prozac. It made a huge difference.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe she mangled the doorknob like that! Poor doggie.

I was expecting a picture of a huge puddle -- that's just amazing!

Do they really make doggie Prozac? What does she do when she hears fireworks?

Angie's Spot said...

Julianne: I'm seriously thinking we might have to go that route if the destruction continues.

Kimba: I know. Totally crazy.

Threeundertwo: Doggie prozac does indeed exist. And I'm not sure what the reaction to fireworks will be. We've only had her for a few months, so we've not had the pleasure of witnessing PTSD due to fireworks. Yikes! :-)

Wow. I stumbled here from Blogher and was shocked to see what happened! Wow! Didn't know a dog would do that. Glad my cat isn't that strong and instead just climbs under the bed and shivers!

Jonny's mommy: Hi there! That's the power of a German Shepherd's jaws for ya. Pretty wild! We knew she was capable, but certainly didn't expect it. I wish we had a cat now! LOL. Glad you found me and hope you'll come back!
