I signed up to participate in a swap last month and an international participant asked to join in. Due to this person being from Britain (and we all know how much I love the Brits), I volunteered to be partnered with this person. I shopped and gathered items that made up a great package and then spent an exorbitant amount of money to ship the package to England. And then I waited. And waited. And waited for my swap package to be delivered and for my partner's package to arrive. My package was delivered to my partner over a week ago and I have nothing. And now this person claims to have never received my package (I have delivery confirmation that shows it WAS delivered) and admits that they never sent me anything even though this person told the swap hostess my package was shipped well over a week ago. LIAR!
The reason I figured out that this person is a scam artist is because this individual signed up for the swap that I am hosting here. This person signed up for my swap with 2 different names, a different email and different blog address, but the same exact mailing address. So, I'm here to expose them for the thief that they are and to hopefully spare someone else out there from the same misfortune that I suffered. Please feel free to cross-post this as I want as many people to benefit from this information. Here is the crook's information.
Aliases used: Helen Colley, Rose Colly, Marie Jones
Emails used: rosencoffee@googlemail.com, rosencoffee@gmail.com, helenc1973@googlemail.com

EDITED TO ADD: Anyone who thinks that they are being defrauded by this person is welcome to email me at angiemnye {at} gmail {dot} com and verify the mailing address that this person has given to you. The address given to me is in the United Kingdom. I did have it posted here, but had to remove it according to Google's Terms & Conditions. Hopefully this setback won't give the crook a leg up on scamming someone else in the meantime.

Seriously. The nerve of some people. This just disappoints me... and pisses me off, too.
thx so much for posting that! i'm participating in a swap very soon so I will be looking out for that JERK
Dang girl!
I'm so sorry you had to endure this. Mean people suck!
This person has a SITS badge on their site...
not cool.
At all.
So sorry this happened, my friend.
Thank you for alerting us to these frauds...we appreciate it. I'm sorry you had to go through that...
YOU GO GIRL!!! EXPOSE THE CROOK!!! Unfortunately that is were my sweet hubby is from (actually more precisely Yarm)
Oh Angie!!!! Disgusting!!!!!
Good for you for the expose!!
As an official spokeswoman for SITS, I will see if she's submitted a feature and take her off the list. We don't feature dishonest people. And I'm so sorry, my friend. People like this suck the fun out of doing swaps.
Thank you for the warning!!! I'm sorry this happened to you.
That is so disappointing :(
I agree with you posting about it, however. Hopefully you are saving someone else the pain of dishonesty at her hands.
UGLY! So sorry this happened to you.
I am still SO pissed off for you that this happened. GRRRR. The nerve of some people. And after you had a bad experience in the other swap as well. I am so sorry! :-((
Good for you for listing EVERYTHING! And I can't believe she didn't realize it was You when she signed up for your swap. Yuck!
I just went to go and see if she was getting evil comments on her blogs...and now they are both private...
What a horrible thing to happen. It's good you posted about is and the details, but I'd be careful of posting an address as it's against the Googles terms & conditions and you could get your blog deleted, or this post. Just a word to the wise.
Ugh, bummer, Angie! I can see why you debated but I think you made the right choice. Anonymity is not always a good thing. And umm how did I miss a swap you're hosting? Seriously, how did I miss it? I read your blog every day. Except for a few days last weekend when I was out of town and gave up on trying to catch up and hmm.
That's awful. I hate this happened but maybe you are keeping someone else from getting scammed.
That crap makes me so angry! Good for you for posting about it. Sadly, there are creeps like this out there. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for her.
I'm sorry that you had to go thru' that. Thanks for posting that. I think it's great that you exposed her.
That's just shitty. I know what you paid to have the package shipped - that just makes it that much worse.
Karma. This lady has a lot of bad coming her way.
How horrible. It's people like this that make the rest of us leary. And I don't like feeling that way. I want to be open and trusting. But unfortunatly that often leads to hurt.
Aww, I'm so sorry! That is ridiculous that they want things so bad that they are willing to do that!
This is disgraceful and it has happened before with others. I posted a post a few weeks ago because it happened in a swap I was in. Not to me but to others and the person did the same thing as this horrid person has done...they are low life and should be shamed for doing this...hugs Khris
This is so frustrating ... I am sorry. I will never understand why some people do the things they do!
I'm late on this one, but how disappointing this had to be for you! After all, how cool would it be to have a hometown swap with a Brit!!
Good for you for putting this up and exposing her!!
