What's in a name?

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.

When I was a senior in high school, I was surrounded by a pretty tight knit group of friends. Most of them had nicknames (that we still use to this day) and I was insanely jealous of this fact. At one point, I asked "Buffy" to give me a nickname. I just wanted to feel like I belonged. After running through a gamut of names that just didn't quite fit the bill, Buffy asked me what my middle name was. I told her it was Susan. And so, for about 2 days, Buffy called me "Little Susie".

GAH!

It was at that point that I decided being called Angie might not be the worst thing in the world after all.

Do you have a nickname? How did you get that nickname? What should my nickname be?

"Heather Feather knows the Weather".

That was it.

Not really a great nickname.

Not much you can do with "Heather Sue".

And Angie is a great name. Way better than little Susie.

Not much you can do with my real name. Everyone always assumed it was short for a longer one, but nope.

Oh, where to begin...

Shannie Annie... my mom called me that a lot when I was little.

I have an uncle that used to call me Bojangles. I have no idea why he started that, but again it began when I was a kid.

My lovely sister saddled me with a nickname that she still uses to this day... when she was little she had a hard time saying "Shannon". So she just made up a name and started calling me that... and it stuck.

Oh, you wanted to know the nickname she gave me?

Fo Fo.

I have many nicknames. The one that seems to have stuck is B. How original, right?! My best friend in high school nicknamed me Blender, that seems to have stuck for her but no one else really picked up on that one.

James calls me Baby, Sweetie, Hon... ya know all the sweet husband/wife nick names.

Your nickname should be Ang! Original, again! :)

My mother would kill me if she knew I wrote Khris all the time now..but if you ask me my name I always say Khristina...with 300 or so emails a day I got sick of typing Khristina...I like Angie...reminds me of Angie Dickinson...LOL..or Ange....hugs Khris

You know mine, baby! But wait, send me an email and tell me who it was that came up with that name? Because I know it wasn't me!
