Birthday Countdown - Giveaway 2

For the scoop on why I'm going all of these giveaways, click here.

I'm doing a week of giveaways just for y'all! Each day will be a different item. I'm giving away some of my favorite things. You can enter each giveaway as many times as you want. Yep, that's right. But, you have to leave a meaningful comment. Not just "pick me, pick me!" Compliments will score you brownie points. Telling me about your favorite birthday memory is a good one. What you like to give/get for birthdays are also good. Anything that you want to tell me.

All giveaways are sponsored by yours truly. All of these birthday giveaways will end at midnight on August 19th (my actual birthday) and winners will be emailed and announced here on the 20th. Good luck and make sure you check back daily for the newest giveaway announcement.

Giveaway Day 2

Is there anyone else out there who couldn't get enough of Legos when they were a kid? That was one of my favorite toys, hands down! I'll never forget a traveling Lego exhibit that came to my town when I was in elementary school. I was so envious of all the amazing creations that people built. And so, today's giveaway is a $10 giftcard for the Lego store!

Believe me, if you're a bargain shopper online, you can make that $10 stretch like crazy. Now, go forth and leave your comments!

LEGOs are so mega-fun. I come from old fashioned parents who were of the mindset that Legos were for boys and Barbies are for girls. I would sneak and play with my older brother's Legos until he would catch me and proceed to beat the crap out of me. (Don't worry too much about me I was a great crotch kicker.) All that being said I started my girls off the mega blocks at their first birthday. I think it is a great tool to let the creative juices flow. :)

I love Legos. Oh, gosh. I have three boys, we have enough legos to start our own store or museum or something!

Lego's are something my 7 year old son is really into right now. He enjoys figuring out the Star Wars and Spongebob sets they sell. It's good for their brains, lol. As a child I too played with them, I just built houses though since the varieties were more limited...still great fun.

My favorite birthday was almost four years ago. I had carrot cake for my birthday and thought it was what I ate and ending up in the hospital and had my beautiful baby the next morning!!

I have always wanted legos as a kid but it was considered a "boy toy". Now I have a 13 month old son and would love to start his (my) lego collection!

Legos....(*gazing into the sky*)...Ah, the memories.
There wasn't anything I ever wanted more every year for my birthday....and every gift receiving holiday for that matter...other than Legos!! From the simple to the very complex, it was ALL my favorite!! I remember my Dad would put the very large & detailed kits together & secure them with a glue gun. He hated putting them together, just for me (and my siblings) to tear them apart and reconfigure them!
When I moved away from home, my Mom asked what I wanted her to keep for her grandkids. I couldn't say loud enough or fast enough "My Legos!!!"
Now that I am grown, married & have children of my own, I can hardly wait to go back to parents house & open every bin of legos, pour them out onto the floor, kick off my shoes and share my love for these simple and color blocks with my children!!
My children are just now getting to an age where I can have Legos laying around the house (choking hazard). I'm sooo excited that I'm going to be able to show and share with them this great American past time!!
*I could have written this in several comments, so I could rack in my chances of winning, but I got carried away and wrote it all in one post!! Hehe!!

Oh man, I LOVE legos! I still love to play with those. Nothing is more fun to play with...or worse when you step on it in the dark. Like stepping on glass! I also broke countless fingernails trying to separate the thinner, "buildable" layers.

I had some for a long time, years ago. Think I gave them up in one of the moves!

Here at our house we love legos. My two children 7 and 5 can spend hours playing together (and being nice) with legos. Even Daddy and I help.

Jenn said...

Both of my boys love Legos - which comes as no surprise because my hubby still collects them and I've always loved them as well. Great idea for a giveaway!

A traveling Lego exhibit...now I bet that was cool! I haven't played with them in years but I still have great memories of them.

Jane In The Jungle said...

OK my lego memory. When Will was 2 he had a problem with ear infections but no normal symptoms. The only way we could tell he had one....he started sticking Lego's in his ears to scratch them!!!

Legos are so cool. I remember making houses with them so my dolls could live in them. Now I make towers and ships and all sort of cool stuff for my son. Now his toys have a home to live in too.

Legos are so classic. What kids, or adult for that matter, doesn't love them? I have 2 young sons that would love them for sure.

Lisa R said...

Doesn't everyone want a Lego set to step on. I remember my mom cursing when she stepped on a lego with her bare foot. Boy was she mad.

Gina @ MoneywiseMoms said...

My son is so into Legos right now. We're even having a Lego birthday party for him later this month. That GC would come in handy!

Lego's is one of those toys that even adults have fun playing with. I can't wait until my son is even older so we can get the bigger sets. Right now he loves to build batcaves for his superheroes with the lego sets we have now.

Oh we adore Legos. We spent an hour at the Lego store just building on Friday. If I promise to build you (or have Mister Man build you!) a birthday cake out of Legos, can we win? :)

Michelle said...

And more on Legos.. what's up with the Brick Separator not being sold at most Lego stores? It's the most useful thing EVER. And Mister Man has the chipped tooth to prove it.

Great choice, Angie!

To say my eight year old is a lego guru would be an understatement. The kid lives and breathes legos! He is always on Lego.com to look for the new stuff and you just got to love Legos and their creative juices that flow when you play with them. The only drawback-cleanup! Thank you for this great giveaway~

This would be perfect for my son. He just had his birthday and didn't get any lego. Today at WalMart he was whining that he wanted some, and thought it would go well with back to school shopping.

How about I just say that with 2 boys, I am surrounded by Legos. They literally watch me as I walk from room to room...

Soooo. Complements earn extra brownie points, you say? Well, not to suck up, but you don't look a day over... 20? 12? 2? Something like that. Oh, and those jeans do NOT make you look fat. They're rather slimming.

It's so funny that you're sponsoring a Lego giftcard because I LOVE legos. Almost as much as I love Star Wars. I have every lego star wars item ever sold. It's probably worth something, but I'd die before I parted with them.
Happy Birthday! Heather

My father owned a construction company and I used to watch the brick layers. So, when I got my first lego set I got into the toothpaste and spread it between each of the legos. What a mess! I thought it was great, but my mother was not so impressed. No more legos for me. =(

Who doesn't love legos?!
I'm starting a "mamas store" for my kids to shop at using tickets they are rewarded with for positive behaviors. This would come in handy for my little store and my son would love it!

Jen B said...

Our local mall just opened a Lego store, where you can go in and design your own creation, and buy just the pieces you need. They also have classes during the week and a play area where the kids can just come in and play at their leisure. Very cool.
