People in glass houses

I love this time of year! The colors are changing on the trees. The temperatures are dropping. The t.v. schedule is finally back to normal. But, most importantly, the trips to the mailbox are finally producing the highly anticipated "TOY WISH BOOKS"!

I can remember squealing with joy as a child as I took the JCPenney catalog and a marker and proceeded to make my list for Santa. There were so many pages with dog ears that I'm surprised the book didn't bark at my parents.

Today, I had my first taste of that excitement from Big A. A holiday toy catalog arrived and no sooner did the words "Santa's List" exit my mouth before she had the book in one hand and stickers in the other hand to note which items were her favorite.

My friend Diana witnessed the exultation. She started to tell me about how her oldest daughter (who is Little A's age) is counting on Santa bringing her a driveable toy car stocked with presents. I laughed not only at the ingenuity of her daughter but also because my children have expressed exactly ZERO interest in those types of toys. (Much to my relief might I add)

And so, Big A sat down to review her choices with me and was sure to point out the 1 item in the book that is now at the top of her list.

Yeah. Who's laughing now?

LOL Those gift cards can't arrive fast enough, man. I think I have spent mine twice over already. At least in my head. Yeah, that's right... it was all in my head. Or something!

That is too cute. You knew it was just a matter of time before they wanted wheels, right?

:-)

For the first time, Michaela is asking for one of these. I've tried to tell her she's about 3 years too old for it, but she's not hearing it.

My sweet MIL bought one of these jeeps for Elijah when he was three. He is now eleven, and the thing has survived three kids driving it through the creek, mud and up and down hills. Definitely got (her) money's worth!

Maybe you should consider it...it would certainly be a Christmas to remember!

We went to a party a couple of weeks ago and they had one of those. Sophie LOVED it. The battery died while we were there and she had the bigger kids pushing her around in it. I think it's only a matter of time until she tells us that she wants one.

We bought one for our daughter when she was 4. She LOVED it! COuldn't wait until the battery was charged. Got stuck on the grass when the battery was running low. I just had a pic of it on my blog a few posts ago.
She will LOVE it, but it is a bit pricey...

The hubs and I have already decided that we're getting him a Power Wheels next year. We both longed for them as wee ones. We were soooooooo deprived. I know it's ridiculous. I think it's more for us than him. I'm going to try to climb into that bad boy. Ah ha
