Is there anyone else out there who couldn't get enough of Legos when they were a kid? That was one of my favorite toys, hands down! I'll never forget a traveling Lego exhibit that came to my town when I was in elementary school. I was so envious of all the amazing creations that people built. The Tuesday Entertainment Roundup

Well folks, it was another lean week of movies. I swear, I'm not sure I remember most of last week because I was so busy. So let's recap the few that I did see.

Fool's Gold - I was a fool to rent this movie. I was a fool to watch it for the 40 minutes that I did. I'm a bigger fool for watching past the 10 minute mark when hubby & I agreed that this movie was crap. And that's the nicest thing I can say about it.

The Secret Life of Bees - I really liked this movie. Great cast. Great writing. It's a sad story though, so be prepared. Dakota Fanning is such a great actress! And I'm really starting to love Queen Latifah also.

Defiance - Ok, I only saw about 10 minutes of this film, but what I saw was good. So, this is hubby's review. Take it honey! "It was good. I liked it. It was better than CATS." Ok, so I'm not sure about that last part, but that was a raving review, so go rent this one, especially if you like war movies that are somewhat uplifting.

Paula Deen Cookbook Giveaway

Before I tell you about the items that I'm giving away today, let me give you a little backstory. Grab a cup of coffee and sit back, because this is a tale of disappointment.

Last month, I traveled to Savannah on a family vacation and was very excited to visit the Paula Deen store that's adjacent to her restaurant. While taking the elevator to my room, I struck up a conversation with some girls who were carrying bags from that store. They informed me that the books in her store were signed. Well, that was all I needed to hear and I was off like a shot of lightening! I got to the store, carefully perused all the books and then chose 2. One for myself and one to give away here! Upon returning to my hotel, hubby carefully examined the books and then proclaimed, "these aren't really signed. This signature is printed." I was aghast! And he was right.

So, I brought the "fake signed" books back home, knowing that all was not lost because I still had a chance to get her signature. You see, Paula was in my town this past weekend at a women's expo. And Shannon & I attended. However, even I couldn't have predicted the massive crowd that obviously showed up hours before the doors opened to the event, in order to line up for the autograph line. By the time we figured out where to line up, it had already swelled to about 500 people easily. Here's a diagram.


Since we had no chance of meeting Ms. Deen, we decided that getting a picture was our next option. Well, after being yelled at by the event staff, I managed to get this pic. Fabulous, huh?!



And so, Shannon & I left, our heads hanging in disappointment, resigned to only seeing Paula on one of her many cooking shows from now on. Oh well. Which brings me to my giveaway.

It's a Jewelry Giveaway!

Today started out as a pretty crappy day for me. I've had some stuff going on in my personal life recently that's got me out of sorts. And then my Monday took a turn for the best. I am not a girly girl, but I am a HUGE fan of bath & body products. Some might even say I am an connoisseur of such things. So, when I find a product that I really love, I sing from the mountaintops about how great it is in the hopes that others will seek it out also. Good Fortune Soap is one of those products.

Good Fortune is the brainchild of an amazingly talented woman named Jennifer Jack. She is a former corporate employee turned small business owner who gave up a lot to pursue a dream and better way of life.
