Wordy Wednesday

I'll probably return to my VLOG next week. I was without internet service for a good portion of yesterday (Comcast, I am still cursing your name), so I couldn't get a VLOG ready. ANYWAY, let's do a little housekeeping here today. Follow along.

~ For all of you on reader, please click over to vote in the poll that I've got on the left hand side. I'm taking votes for the kind of giftcard you guys are interested in winning in the next giveaway that I'm doing. Poll is open through this Saturday night. Giveaway to be announced sometime next week!

~ I am thinking of doing a swap this summer. The theme I'm throwing around is Christmas in July where you send a goody bag to your partner based on things that they would like to receive as gifts. Thoughts? Would you be interested in this swap?

~ I am stunned to admit that I really like the new Miley Cyrus song that's out right now. I think it's called "The Climb". Please don't tell my hubby.

~ Have I mentioned that we finally booked our beach vacation for the summer? Hilton Head here we come!! We're also spending a full day in Savannah, which I'm really excited about. It's my mission to come home with something that has Paula Deen on it. Hopefully her autograph. So, for those of you who have traveled to either destination, please give me recommendations on things to do or places to eat. Thanks!

Ok, that's it for today. Enjoy this beautiful Earth Day!

Yay for Hilton Head. That is one of our possible destinations for our vacation. Take lots of pictures! :-) Savannah is neat too. The River Walk is a good time.

Christmas in July sounds like fun.

I've heard good things about that Miley Cyrus song but I have yet to hear it with my own ears.

I had to look up who Paula Deen was. I am so cooking-impaired.

The swap sounds awesome! And so does Hilton Head. We won't be going on vacation anywhere (except our backyard) this summer, so I'm insanely jealous of anyone who is, LOL! Have fun!!

The swap? Way cool? Savannah? Even cooler! Do you have your reservations at Mother & Sons yet? I soooo want to go there. Jealous. Jealous.

I lived in Beaufort, SC for five years and frequented both Hilton Head and Savannah.

HH- Right before you get there, you'll pass the Tanger Outlets in a little place called Bluffton. They're worth stopping at, if for no other reason than to go to the ice cream shop and get a turtle sundae. On Hilton Head, take a gamble and go down some of the streets that don't appear to go anywhere right after you get on the island. There are small, quiet beaches that have all of the beauty and charm of HH, but not the huge touristy crowds. That's where we would go. Look for a road on the left- Bradley beach rd, I think, and follow that down past all of the condos. The road dead-ends into a place where you pay a buck to park then walk out a beautiful boardwalk right out to the beach. It's gorgeous.

Savannah- Oh goodness. I don't know where to begin. Go to the historic district. It's right after you cross over the Talmadge Bridge (or as we called it, the Batman bridge. You'll see why!) The river-front is fantastic! Such neat little shops! If you're going to The Lady and Sons, get there early. The line usually wraps around the building. Check out the neat squares around Abercorn Rd. Make sure you look up Mercer House and learn the history behind that as well. When someone refers to "The Book", it's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" by John Berendt. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you do (don't skimp by renting the movie!) because you will see Savannah in a completely different light after that.

I agree- have dinner at The Pirate's House. Pack a lunch, too, and picnic in Forsyth Park. There is a beautiful fountain there that is a great photo-op.

Okay, I'll stop rambling now, hahaha. I miss living in Beaufort so much and would love to go back to all of that beauty. I'm just glad we spent those five years doing and seeing as much as we could. I've got such fantastic memories.

By the way, I'm Apple. Hello! Ha! That's one heck of an introductory comment, huh? I'm so homesick. You mentioned Savannah and my eyes teared up!
